17α-Hydroxy Impatienside Production Service

17α-Hydroxy Impatienside Production Service

Easily Accomplished 17α-Hydroxy Impatienside Production

Relying on a reliable Marine Biomolecule Production team, CD BioGlyco provides our clients with high-yield Marine Glycoside Production Services. 17α-Hydroxy impatienside is a triterpene glycoside isolated from sea cucumber. It has a wide range of biological activities such as antimicrobial activity and cytotoxicity. Our lab provides one-stop 17α-hydroxy impatienside production services including extraction, isolation, purification, characterization, and activity testing.

Preparation and Pre-treatment of Raw Material

Our production team provides professional raw material collection and pretreatment services. We mainly extract and isolate 17α-hydroxy impatienside from Chinese sea cucumber Bohadschia marmorata. Moreover, we support our clients to provide raw materials.

Extraction and Isolation

  • Organic solvent extraction: Our researchers chop and grind the dried sea cucumber and extract it through the steps of ethanol reflux, evaporation under reduced pressure, and n-BuOH separation.
  • For the crude product obtained from the isolation, our lab uses column chromatography for further purification. Our researchers have proven operational experience with separations. By changing the buffer, elution gradient, and column packing to separate as many components as possible to obtain a high purity of the target product.

Characterization

  • CD BioGlyco has specialized structural characterization experts to help our customers quickly identify the structure of marine glycoside. Our common techniques include infrared (IR) spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy, electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS), and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS).
  • CD BioGlyco provides monosaccharide composition analysis, glycan sequencing, and attachment point analysis.

Bioassays

For purified 17α-hydroxy impatienside, we offer bioactivity testing services such as antifungal activity analysis and cytotoxicity effect analysis. The strains we use include but are not limited to Candida albicans, Aspergillus fumigatus, Candida krusei, Cryptococcus neoformans, Trichophyton rubrum, and Candida tropicalis. Our lab provides custom bioactivity assays based on client needs.

Results: In this study, the researchers summarized a series of bioactive substances extracted from sea cucumber such as triterpene glycosides (saponins), glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), polysaccharides sulfate, sterols (glycosides and sulfates), glycoproteins, and so on. Combining chemical and chromatographic techniques, the researchers obtained several secondary metabolites, i.e. triterpene glycosides. Their structures were determined by NMR and other spectroscopic identifications. Moreover, extensive experiments have shown that 17α-hydroxy impatienside A has potential antimicrobial potential.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the carbohydrate chain of a triterpene glycoside usually composed of?

The carbohydrate chains of triterpene glycosides usually contain xylose, glucose, quinovose, 3-O-methylglucose, and in rare cases 3-O-methylxylose, 3-O-methylglucuronide, 3-O-methylquinose, and 6-O-acetylglucose.

What is glycoside?

Glycoside is a sugar-containing derivative in which a monosaccharide or oligosaccharide is bound to another non-sugar compound or functional group via a glucosidic bond, i.e., a class of compounds formed by the combination of a glycone with a genin.
