Marine Glycosides are a specialized class of Marine Biomolecule found in marine organisms. They have diverse structures and biological activities and are commonly associated with the growth, immune system, and environmental adaptations of marine organisms. At CD BioGlyco, we are committed to providing our clients with structure-specific sokodoside production services such as sokodoside A and sokodoside B.
Depending on the client's needs, Our lab provides professional biological material collection services. We provide raw material cleaning, cutting and homogenizing services.
For homogenized biological samples, we use n-PrOH and water for extraction. After mixing the extract with water and trichloromethane, our researchers quickly isolate the target mixture. It is worth mentioning that we have specialized personnel to provide antifungal fraction isolation services. The antifungal fractions are separated by n-PrOH, water, and trifluoroacetic acid (TFA), and then the antifungal fractions are separated using a phenylhexyl column.
CD BioGlyco provides efficient purification services by octadecylsilyl flash chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Our lab operators strictly control every step of the separation in order to give our clients the best sokodoside delivery.
Our trained analytical team provides conformational analysis of glycosides, monosaccharide composition, derivatization labeling, and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis. Moreover, we use nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and tandem mass spectrometry to characterize the sokodoside structure. Importantly, we offer bioactivity assay services to ensure the integrity of our services.

Results: In this study, scholars discuss sokodoside A and sokodoside B derived from marine sponge E. placenta. These two sokodosides showed antifungal activity but no bacteriostatic effect against Mortierella ramanniana and Saccharomyces cereivisiae. In addition, sokodoside A and sokodoside B showed cytotoxic activity against P388 cells.
Fig.1 The structure of sokodoside A and B. (Ebada, et al., 2010)
What are the structural peculiarities of sokodoside A and B?
Sokodoside A is a branched tetraoside composed of β-D-galacturonic acid, α-L-fucose, β-D-galacturonic acid, and α-L-arabinose. Sokodoside B is a branched trioside with a carbohydrate chain composed of α-L arabinose, β-D-galacturonic acid, and β-D-galactogalacturonic acid.
What are the advantages of the hydro-alcoholic extraction method?
In the water-alcohol extraction method, the solution interacts with the glycoside molecules by forming hydrogen bonds or van der Waals forces, causing the glycosides to dissolve in the solvent. In addition, water and alcohol have some selective extraction effect on glycosides, which can better extract the target substances from the mixture. The use of the water-alcohol extraction method can efficiently extract glycosides and does not cause damage to the glycoside molecules during the extraction process, ensuring the biological activity of glycosides.
Relying on advanced production technology, CD BioGlyco provides high-yield and high-purity sokodoside production services to meet clients' needs in different fields. Please do not hesitate to
