Fishes-derived Lectin Production Service

Fishes-derived Lectin Production Service

Enabling Fishes-derived Lectin Research Through Quality Products

It is found that fish-derived lectin has a wide range of biological activities, such as antibacterial, antiviral, anti-tumor, etc, which has good applications in biomedicine and pharmaceuticals. As a company specializing in marine glycobiology, CD BioGlyco provides an efficient fishes-derived lectin production service. Our goal is to provide innovative solutions and high-quality products according to the specific requirements of our clients to ensure maximum client satisfaction.

The fishes-derived lectin service applies to a wide range of fishes and individual tissues. Our experts with extensive research in Marine Lectins and other Marine Biomolecules develop customized protocols based on different sample types and client requirements. The production process is described below:

Extraction

The process involves homogenization of fish tissues, followed by extraction and centrifugation using suitable solvents to separate the lectins and remove a large number of impurities. Fish tissues that are processed include blood plasma, muscle, intestines, eggs, gills, mucus, stomach, and others.

Purification

The crude extract is purified to obtain a high-purity fish-derived lectin product. We combine chromatography (ion exchange chromatography, affinity chromatography, or gel filtration chromatography), dialysis, freeze-drying, and other techniques for this purpose.

Characterization

Characterization of fish-derived lectin to understand its structure, sugar-binding specificity, stability, and potential applications.

  • Detection of amino acid composition
  • Analysis of sugar-binding specificity
  • Detection of primary and secondary structures
  • Detection of molecular weight
  • Physical and chemical analysis
  • Analysis of biological activities, including antibacterial, antiviral, antitumor, immunomodulation, etc.

We help to explore the potential applications of fish lectins in various fields such as medicine, biotechnology, and immunobiology by providing high-quality fish-derived lectin and research guidance.

Results: This article describes some steps for the extraction and purification of marine lectins, such as the extraction of fish-derived lectins, and describes their biological activities. A two-step method for the extraction and purification of lectins from fish muscle is mentioned. The combination of anion exchange and gel filtration chromatography is also used for purifying crude extracts of fish skin mucus lectins. These methods provide methodological support for the development and optimization of our method for the production of fish-derived lectin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Lectins can be isolated from which tissues of which fish?

Fish lectins are one of the research hotspots because of their various biological activities, including antiviral and antitumor activities. Lectins have been isolated, purified, and characterized from various tissues of a wide range of fish, such as tilapia, Japanese eel, perch, and zebrafish. In addition to the liver, egg, intestine, and stomach, lectins have also been isolated and obtained from plasma, mucus, and skin of fish. These lectins are found to differ in their sugar-binding specificity, subunit number, molecular weight, and amino acid sequence.

What are the types of lectins isolated from fish?

The major classes of lectins identified from fish include C-type lectins, F-type lectins, galectins, etc. These all have similar calcium binding sites, disulfide bond positions, and carbohydrate recognition structural domains. Together they are involved in cellular agglutination, antipathogen activity, and other biological responses.

CD BioGlyco continuously researches and develops new methods to optimize the marine lectin production process. We provide a one-stop fish-derived lectin production service and high-quality products to help deeply explore its value.
