Fucoidan-based Tissue Engineering Development Service

Fucoidan-based Tissue Engineering Development Service

Fucoidan-based Tissue Engineering Development Service at CD BioGlyco

CD BioGlyco provides tissue engineering development services based on a variety of Marine Carbohydrates such as Hyaluronic acid, Chitin, fucoidan, etc. Fucoidan is a sulfated polysaccharide with antioxidant and hypoglycemic properties. Based on this, fucoidan is widely used in various medical and biological applications. To meet the needs of our clients in drug delivery, disease treatment, and others, we provide a one-stop fucoidan-based tissue engineering development service.

The fucoidan-based biomaterials we develop include but are not limited to the following:

Fucoidan-based nanoparticle development service

Fucoidan-based nanoparticles have potential applications in antimicrobials, magnetic resonance imaging contrast, and cancer therapy. We fabricate fucoidan-based nanoparticles by a variety of methods. Solvent evaporation, microwave, precipitation, emulsion, polyelectrolyte self-assembly, ultrasonication, and green synthesis methods are mastered. synthesis methods are well mastered.

Fucoidan-based hydrogel development service

We design the structure of fucoidan-based hydrogels according to client requirements. We carry out the design by studying the conformational relationship between crosslinking point density, crosslinking strength, monomer concentration and pore size, molding method, time, etc. Based on the gel fabrication methods developed so far, we choose ionic crosslinking, free radical polymerization crosslinking, and click chemistry for fabrication. Fucoidan has different biological roles based on its structural heterogeneity and molecular weight. We functionally Modify fucoidan based on fucoidan and product usage according to client requirements.

After fabricating fucoidan-based biomaterials, we will use a scanning electron microscope to observe the morphological structure of the fabricated biomaterials. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, mechanical, thermal properties, etc., are also Characterized.

Results: In this study, fucoidan was functionalized with methacrylation (MFu) and further photocrosslinked to generate hydrogel particles. The MFu degree ranged between 2.78 and 6.50 as detected by NMR. The average diameter of the hydrogels ranged from 0.63 to 1.3 mm. Biological characterization of the hydrogel showed that the hydrogel could support the survival of pancreatic β-cells and maintain insulin release. Thus the fucoidan-based hydrogel has the potential to serve as a multifunctional carrier for the treatment of diabetes.
