Variegatuside is a non-sulfated triterpene glycoside. It is a metabolite isolated from sea cucumbers. CD BioGlyco uses a variety of combination techniques to purify and isolate various types of glycosides. Our high-quality variegatusides greatly facilitate your projects in the fields of biopharmaceuticals, food research, and biomedicine. We offer individualized production solutions based on our clients' needs for their samples. Whether you need large or small batches, we are the right partner for you!
Washing and crushing: Our laboratory dusts and cleans the collected sea cucumbers. The dried sea cucumbers are processed into a powder suitable for extraction by mechanical crushing equipment.
Technology: NMR spectra, High-resolution electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (HR-ESI-MS), GC-MS, TLC, HPLC, SEC

Results: In this work, researchers extracted a total of seven glycosides from sea cucumber, including four novel non-sulfated triterpene glycosides variegatuside C-F and three known glycosides. The researchers characterized the structures of the glycosides by NMR and ESI-MS. In vitro activity tests showed that all of these trip glycosides have very significant antifungal activity. This study provides valuable information on antifungal natural products.

What are the advantages of extracting sea cucumber-derived saponins by alcohol solutions?
Saponins are usually soluble in water and alcohol solutions, and insoluble in ether, chloroform, and benzene. Alcohol extraction methods commonly used extracts are methanol, ethanol, n-butanol, and so on. Currently, ethanol is the most common solvent used for the extraction of sea cucumber saponins, and 60% and 70% ethanol systems are the most common, which is hypothesized to be related to the structure of sea cucumber saponins with amphiphilicity.
What are the methods included in the determination of sea cucumber saponin content?
Commonly used methods include a colorimetric method, TLC, and HPLC. Colorimetric methods have the advantages of simplicity and speed. TLC uses a certain unfolding agent to unfold and then combines it with the use of other instruments for quantitative determination. HPLC effectively separates the sample and impurities, in the separation and determination of saponin is more often used.
