Marine Animal Polysaccharide Production Service

Marine Animal Polysaccharide Production Service

Relying on the Integrity Principle to Promote the Production of Marine Animal Polysaccharides

The oceans are home to a large number of marine organisms such as Plants, animals, and Microorganisms. CD BioGlyco extracts high-quality Marine Biomolecules and uses them in a wide range of applications in the Drug-Delivery Vehicle Development, Vaccine Development, and food and chemical industries. Our lab provides Marine Carbohydrate Production services with complex structures and bioactivities. Marine animal polysaccharides differ significantly from mammalian polysaccharides in terms of structure and bioactivity. Marine animal polysaccharides are biocompatible, biodegradable, non-toxic, low cost and abundant.

CD BioGlyco mainly provides the following services for the production of marine animal polysaccharides:

Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) are negatively charged linear polysaccharides. GAGs are found in most marine animals, such as sharks, oysters, jellyfish, mussels, sea cucumbers, scallops, and mother-of-pearl. We offer a wide range of GAG production services as follows:

Marine animal polysaccharide extraction service

  • Marine animal polysaccharides come from a wide range of sources, and many marine animals contain different types and quantities of biologically active polysaccharides, such as echinoderms, mollusks, crustaceans, mammals, and fish.
  • CD BioGlyco provides high-quality marine animal extraction services through Solvent Extraction, Enzymatic Extraction, Assisted Extraction (ultrasonic-assisted extraction and microwave-assisted extraction), high-pressure pulse extraction, and Supercritical Fluid Extraction.

Marine animal polysaccharide purification service

The extracted marine animal polysaccharides are a mixture of polysaccharides that are similar in composition and properties, and require further purification to separate them into single components. Our lab provides high-purity purification of marine animal polysaccharides.

  • Chromatography Purification of marine animal polysaccharides: Our researchers provide crude polysaccharide purification services using a variety of chromatography such as ion exchange chromatography and gel column chromatography.
  • Precipitation Purification of marine animal polysaccharides: Our staff often use ethanol or salt solutions as precipitants for the purification of crude polysaccharides. Depending on the properties of the different polysaccharides, we offer the optimal precipitant.
  • Quaternary ammonium salt purification of marine animal polysaccharides: We provide reliable quaternary ammonium salt purification service. Crude polysaccharides are separated by solvent parameters, charge density, and molecular weight size.
  • Ultracentrifugation Purification of marine animal polysaccharides: Ultracentrifugation is mainly used to classify polysaccharides using different centrifugal forces.

Marine Animal Polysaccharide Characterization Service

Different classes of polysaccharides differ in the type of constituent units, the nature of glycosidic bonds, the degree and form of branching, chain length, molecular weight, and conformation. We offer the following characterization services for these marine animal polysaccharides:

  • Chitin Characterization
  • Chitosan Characterization
  • Chitooligosaccharide Characterization
  • Glycosaminoglycan Characterization
    • Keratan Sulfate Characterization
    • Chondroitin Sulfate Characterization
    • Heparin Characterization
    • Heparan Sulfate Characterization
    • Hyaluronan Characterization
    • Dermatan Sulfate Characterization
    • Heparan Sulfate Characterization

Results: In this study, a new marine polysaccharide was isolated from common cockle (Cerastoderma edule) by enzymatic extraction, ion exchange chromatographic purification, and precipitation purification. The researchers confirmed that the new polysaccharide is a novel marine-derived heparan sulfate/heparin-like polysaccharide by multiple analyses. The novel polysaccharide has potent antiproliferative activity and is sensitive to heparinase but not chondroitinase. This finding promotes the development of marine polysaccharides as therapeutic molecules.

Applications

  • Marine animal polysaccharides can be used as drugs, nutraceuticals, and dietary supplements to inhibit tumor cell proliferation in a concentration-dependent manner.
  • Sulfated polysaccharides from marine organisms conquer the frontiers of antithrombotic therapy and open new avenues for the treatment or prevention of thromboembolic diseases.
  • Marine animal polysaccharide has unique advantages in regulating macrophage polarization to control inflammation in diabetic wounds.
  • Marine animal polysaccharides can be used in the development of food preservation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to determine the purity of marine animal polysaccharides?

The purity of marine animal polysaccharides cannot be measured by the usual purity standards for compounds because even in their pure form, their microstructures are not homogeneous. Commonly used purity methods include ultracentrifugation, gel chromatography, high-performance liquid chromatography, and electrophoresis.

What are the biological activities of marine animal polysaccharides?

Marine animal polysaccharides have a wide range of biological activities, including anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, anti-coagulant, improvement of intestinal flora diversity, restoration of immune function, and enhancement of the activity of the immune system.

CD BioGlyco has a high-quality marine polysaccharide production team to provide our clients with a wide variety of marine animal polysaccharide production services. Our researchers are skilled in the field of marine carbohydrate production. Feel free to contact us for any reason whatsoever.
