Ulvan-based Tissue Engineering Development Service

Ulvan-based Tissue Engineering Development Service

Ulvan-based Tissue Engineering Development Service at CD BioGlyco

CD BioGlyco is a high-tech enterprise integrating research, production, and application development of Marine Carbohydrates (Hyaluronic Acid, Alginate, Extracellular Polysaccharide, ulvan, etc). Ulvan is a sulfated water-soluble heteropolysaccharide with unique physicochemical and biological properties. It consists of D-glucose, D-xylose, D-glucuronic acid, and L-rhamnose. Based on its bioabsorbability, putative properties, and biocompatibility, ulvan is an ideal material for the fabrication of scaffolds for tissue engineering applications. We offer ulvan-based tissue engineering development services for various hybrid scaffolds, nanoparticles, hydrogel membranes, and other polymers. Clients just need to tell us the requirements. We complete all experiments from experimental design, fabrication, and optimization to Characterization according to the requirements.

Ulvan-based Hydrogel Development Service

Ulvan forms hydrogels with boric acid. We provide hydrogel development services based on ulvan. There are various methods to fabricate hydrogels. We mainly use ionic crosslinking to fabricate hydrogels. The ulvan-based hydrogels have good self-healing ability and their surface groups lead to tissue adhesion. The swelling ability of the hydrogel also promotes wound healing. We fabricate hydrogels for various tissue engineering applications according to client requirements. We also optimize the crystallinity, density, mechanical properties, and internal network structure of the hydrogel film to obtain a product with good properties.

Ulvan-based 3D Porous Scaffold Development Service

Ulvan has appropriate cytocompatibility and physicochemical properties to be blended with other mixtures to fabricate 3D porous scaffolds. We provide a one-stop service for the development of ulvan-based 3D porous scaffolds. We fabricate the scaffolds with attention to details such as layered morphology, appropriate pore size distribution (based on the tissue being replaced), very high porosity, pore interconnectivity, and so on.

Ulvan-based Nanoparticle Development Service

Nanoparticles are safe and effective carriers that play an ideal role in targeted drug delivery applications. We provide ulvan-based nanoparticle development services. The developed nanoparticles are used as carriers for curcumin etc., and have promising applications in disease therapy.

Results: In this study, a series of hybrid ulvan/PCL (UP) scaffolds were prepared using ulvan and polycaprolactone as experimental materials. They were physically and chemically characterized. The examined results showed that all the scaffolds had large pore networks and interconnected pores with large surface areas suitable for cell growth and cell adhesion. Their pore size was suitable for cell proliferation and nutrient delivery. In this study, the effects of various polysaccharide contents and preparation methods on the morphology, water absorption, porosity, and mechanical and thermal properties of the scaffolds were determined.

Applications

  • The ulvan based hydrogels have antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. They are used to accelerate wound healing.
  • The ulvan-based hydrogels are used for cell adhesion and accelerate cell jihad, which has good applications in tissue regeneration engineering.
  • Edible coatings and films fabricated from ulvan extend the shelf life of food products by preventing microbial spoilage, and moisture loss.

Advantages of Us

  • We develop a wide range of materials based on ulvan, including scaffolds, hydrogels, and nanofibers.
  • Our goal is to provide tissue engineering development services that are ideally suited to meet the needs of our clients.
  • We fabricate biomaterials with the best results by testing the effects of various factors on pore size, porosity, mechanical properties, etc.
