Antitumor Activity Screening Service

Antitumor Activity Screening Service at CD BioGlyco

Marine glycans and glycoproteins are structurally diverse and have significant anti-tumor activity due to their in vivo multi-targeted action characteristics. CD BioGlyco provides trusted marine glycans and glycoproteins screening for anti-tumor activity to clients worldwide with best-in-class glycobiology technology.

  • Based on the characterization of antitumor activity, we provide an analysis of marine glycans and glycoproteins in terms of their primary structure, higher structure, molecular mass, and chemical modifications.
    • We provide mass spectrometry and high-performance liquid chromatography to detect the main chain structure and helical structure of different marine glycans and glycoproteins, and further analyze their as well as structural effects on anti-tumor activity in conjunction with mice models.
    • We use gel permeation chromatography to measure the molecular mass of marine glycans and glycoproteins and analyze the effect of molecular weight on antitumor activity in conjunction with animal models and cellular assay assays.
    • Similarly, we provide chemical modifications such as sulfation, acetylation, sulfonylation, alkylation, iodination, and carboxymethylation in conjunction with in vivo experiments to analyze the effects of chemical modifications on the antitumor activity of marine glycans and glycoproteins.
  • Further, the methods we offer include, but are not limited to, the following.
    • Reactive oxygen species (ROS) assay
Tumor cells are in a state of oxidative stress and have a higher sensitivity to ROS as well as higher levels of ROS than normal cells. CD BioGlyco offers the detection of ROS in tumor cells in the presence of specific marine glycans and glycoproteins based on the above characteristics.
We offer methods of detection that include but are not limited to, fluorescent staining, electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) technology, chemiluminescence, chromatography, and electrochemical biosensors.
    • Cell assay
Cell-based assays are the primary means of examining the effects of specific substances on tumor cells. At CD BioGlyco, we offer a variety of cellular assay services to analyze the anti-tumor activity of marine glycans and marine glycoproteins. Specific services include, but are not limited to: MTT proliferation assay, rhodamine 123 accumulation assay, apoptosis detection, proliferation inhibition-mitotic index assay, and so on.

Results: The research was designed to evaluate the potential anti-tumor activity of four new olivacine derivatives. In the research, colorectal cancer cell lines were used for assessing cell viability. Firstly, it incubated the cells with new olivacine derivatives. Second, they were subjected to MTT assay, rhodamine 123 assay, apoptosis assay, and proliferation inhibition-mitosis index. The experimental results showed that for all tested compounds, rhodamine accumulation was observed in the rhodamine 123 assay; all tested compounds possessed pro-oxidant activity. Compared to the reference compounds, the compounds displayed higher anti-tumor potential as well as lower toxicity, which supports that new olivacine derivatives are favorable candidates for future anticancer drugs.

Applications

  • Anti-tumor activity screening assays are used in the development of anti-tumor drugs.
  • Anti-tumor activity screening assays are used for large-scale screening of anti-tumor drugs, cytotoxicity assays, and tumor radiosensitivity assays.
  • Anti-tumor activity screening assays are used to investigate the process of tumor cell genesis, metastasis, and proliferation.

Advantages

  • Anti-tumor activity screening technology is suitable for large-scale detection of tumor cells. The technology has excellent stability and broad range to accurately detect the anti-tumor activity of a wide range of marine glycans and glycoproteins.
  • We provide custom anti-tumor activity testing solutions based on the characteristics of different products.
  • We not only provide product testing but also provide detailed report interpretation.
