Primary active ingredients in foliar sprays and soil drench applications, promoting superior root elongation, increased chlorophyll content, and faster recovery from transplantation shock.

Seaweed oligosaccharides, derived from the depolymerization of complex marine polysaccharides (such as alginates, fucoidans, and carrageenans), represent a cutting-edge class of highly bioactive molecules. These low-molecular-weight compounds possess superior bio-stimulant and plant defense-eliciting properties compared to bulk seaweed extracts. CD BioGlyco recognizes that delivering high-purity, structurally defined oligosaccharides is critical for consistent, predictable efficacy in agricultural formulations. Our comprehensive ingredient production service is designed to meet this precise need, enabling our clients to develop superior biofertilizers and plant health products.
Enzymatic methods utilize highly specific lyases and glycoside hydrolases to cleave glycosidic bonds, yielding oligosaccharides with narrow molecular weight distributions and predictable structures. This approach is highly preferred for agricultural applications as it operates under mild conditions, minimizes the creation of undesirable byproducts, and preserves the maximum intrinsic bioactivity of the resulting fucooligosaccharides (FOS), alginate oligosaccharides (AOS), and carrageenan-oligosaccharides (COS).
The scope of our service extends beyond simple ingredient supply; we act as a strategic partner in developing novel agricultural products. We specialize in producing defined seaweed oligosaccharides suitable for two primary application modalities:
We produce high-purity, concentrated oligosaccharides intended to be the primary bioactive component in an end-product. These compounds are highly effective when used alone or in simple blends as powerful biostimulants.
For clients developing complex fertilizer formulations, pesticides, or nutrient foliar feeds, our oligosaccharides serve as high-performance excipients or additives that enhance the efficiency and action of the primary ingredients.

Results: This study investigates the effects of AOS combined with different concentrations of Hoagland nutrient solution on the growth and nutrient uptake of cucumber seedlings under suboptimal temperature conditions. Conducted with potted seedlings grown in coconut coir, the research measures key indicators including growth parameters, root morphology, photosynthetic characteristics, root activity, nitrogen (N) metabolism enzyme activities, and N content/accumulation. Results show that the AOS application significantly enhances all measured indicators—particularly root surface area, root vitality, N metabolic enzyme activities, and N accumulation—compared to non-AOS treatments. Correlation analysis confirms strong positive links between root morphology, root activity, N enzyme activities, and tissue N content. The study concludes that AOS is more effective than merely increasing nutrient levels in promoting cucumber seedling growth and nutrient uptake under suboptimal temperatures, providing theoretical support for reducing chemical fertilizer use and improving greenhouse vegetable production resilience in cold conditions.

Primary active ingredients in foliar sprays and soil drench applications, promoting superior root elongation, increased chlorophyll content, and faster recovery from transplantation shock.
Oligosaccharides are applied directly to seeds to enhance germination rates, increase seedling vigor, and provide early-stage defense priming against pathogens.
Used in conjunction with NPK and micronutrient fertilizers to enhance nutrient chelation, mobility, and plant uptake efficiency, minimizing nutrient loss and improving overall plant metabolism.
Oligosaccharides and their polymer precursors improve soil water retention, aeration, and aggregate stability, making them excellent components for managing sandy or degraded soils.
Purity and Structural Integrity
Unlike generic seaweed extracts, our process guarantees ingredients with defined molecular weights and degrees of polymerization, ensuring reproducible biological outcomes.
Scalability and Supply Chain Assurance
With robust, flexible production capabilities, we scale from lab-bench verification to multi-ton industrial supply without compromising product quality.
Proprietary Efficacy Validation
We offer integrated biological testing services, allowing clients to validate the biostimulant effects of their custom oligosaccharides.
How do seaweed oligosaccharides improve nutrient uptake?
They function as natural chelators, binding to nutrient ions and protecting them from being locked up in the soil. This chelation makes nutrients more mobile and readily available for absorption by the plant's root system, significantly improving the efficacy of co-applied fertilizers.
Is there a minimum order quantity (MOQ) for custom production?
We are flexible. While commercial production has an MOQ, we always start with small-scale R&D batches to confirm feasibility and efficacy before committing to large volumes. We encourage clients to start with a feasibility study.
Can you customize the oligosaccharide structure for a specific crop and challenge?
Absolutely. Our R&D team specializes in tailoring the starting seaweed species and the hydrolysis process (enzymatic/chemical) to achieve a structure that specifically addresses your target—be it drought tolerance in corn or root growth in leafy greens.
