Properties
Description
This pH-sensitive polymer conjugate features poly(4-vinylpyridine) (P4VP), a polymer with a nitrogen-containing aromatic ring that exhibits pH-dependent swelling and solubility, covalently attached via a hydrophilic polyethylene glycol (PEG) chain to the biocompatible polysaccharide xanthan gum, providing a versatile tool for studies involving stimuli-responsive hydrogels, controlled release triggered by pH changes, or metal ion complexation.
