Suberites domuncula Lectin Production Service

Suberites domuncula Lectin Production Service

Take Your Studies to New Heights with Our Suberites domuncula Lectin (SDL) Production Service

CD BioGlyco focuses on the cutting-edge field of marine biotechnology. We provide Marine Biomolecule Production Services to explore and utilize the unique biomolecules of marine organisms. As an important part of this, we specifically provide  Marine Lectin Production Services, among which S. domuncula lectin production service is one of the highlights. We use advanced Technologies for Marine Carbohydrate Production, Technologies for the Purification of Marine Polysaccharides, and Marine Carbohydrate Characterization Technology to provide clients with high-quality SDL products to meet various scientific research and industrial application needs.

Raw material collection and pretreatment

We collect samples from the marine organism S. domuncula. The collected raw materials undergo fine pretreatment steps such as washing, crushing, and filtering to remove impurities.

SDL extraction and purification

  • Extraction: We use advanced bioseparation technologies such as ultrasound-assisted extraction and enzymatic extraction to extract SDL from the pretreated raw materials efficiently and gently.
  • Purification: We effectively remove impurities through multi-step purification processes such as ion exchange chromatography, gel filtration chromatography, and affinity chromatography.

Quality control and testing

We use advanced analytical techniques such as high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), mass spectrometry (MS), and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) to conduct comprehensive testing of the purity, activity, and structure of SDL.

Product packaging and delivery

  • Product packaging: We use professional packaging materials and packaging technology to carefully package the products. The packaging materials meet environmental protection and safety standards to ensure the stability and safety of the products during transportation and storage.
  • Delivery method: We select the appropriate transportation method and transportation company to ensure that the product can be delivered to the client on time and safely. During the transportation process, we will monitor and track the product in real time to ensure the safety and reliability of the product.

Results: The authors demonstrated the existence of a tachylectin-related protein in the demosponge S. domuncula, referred to as Suberites lectin. The cDNA that encodes the S. domuncula lectin was successfully identified and cloned, revealing that it consists of 238 amino acids in the open reading frame. The resulting protein was found to have one potential transmembrane region, three characteristic Cys residues, and six internal tandem repeats. The natural sponge lectin was then purified using affinity chromatography, with a size of 27 kDa, and showed antibacterial action against both Gram-negative bacteria like Escherichia coli and Gram-positive bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus.

Applications of SDL

  • SDL can be used to study the mechanism of enzymatic reactions, especially the unique enzyme system found in sponges.
  • SDL can be used to study the synthesis mechanism of sponge biomaterials.
  • SDL can be used for surface modification of biomaterials taking advantage of the specificity of SDL binding to glycans.

Advantages

  • We use advanced bio-separation and purification technologies to efficiently extract SDL from S. domuncula while maintaining its biological activity and structural integrity.
  • Our production process is carefully designed and optimized to maximize the stability of SDL biological activity during production and storage by using appropriate buffers and temperature control.
  • Our SDL production technology is highly flexible and can be adjusted according to the needs of different clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you ensure the purity and activity of SDL?

With our professional quality control team and advanced production technology, we conduct strict purity and activity tests on each batch of SDL produced. Through precise analysis and evaluation, we ensure that the purity of SDL meets the highest standards and maintains its biological activity. In addition, we also adopt appropriate storage and transportation conditions to ensure that SDL is in the best condition when it is delivered to clients.
