Simplexide is a novel Atypical Glycolipid compound isolated from marine sponges that shows promising anti-cancer activity. At CD BioGlyco, our dedicated Marine Biomolecule Production team is skilled in the production process of all types of Glycolipids of marine biological origin, offering custom simplexide production services to our clients.
We use methanol and trichloromethane as extraction solutions to extract simplexide sequentially from marine sponges. After the extraction is complete, all the extracts are combined and partitioned between water and n-BuOH. Then, the organic phase is collected and the solvent is removed under vacuum to obtain the crude extract of simplexide.
Simplexide is purified sequentially using reversed-phase column chromatography and direct column chromatography. Throughout the purification process, a thin-layer chromatographic (TLC) is used to check whether impurities are effectively removed. The purity of the obtained simplexide is tested by nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectroscopy (1H NMR).
In addition to the above-mentioned characterization, we also offer other angles of analysis, such as the biological activity of simplexide, according to the specific needs of our clients.
What is simplexide? And what are its structural features?
Simplexide is a glycolipid consisting of a long chain of secondary alcohols with a disaccharide chain structure of α-glucose and α-galactose. Natural simplexide is a mixture of homologs with alkyl chains of different lengths attached to a central -CHOH group. In addition, a large portion of the alkyl chain of simplexide has a methyl branching structure in the penultimate or penultimate third carbon atom.
What are the biological activities of simplexide?
Simplexide is a glycolipid molecule that, due to its unique structure and function, has a variety of potential biological activities, including immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral, and synergistic effects with other biomolecules.
CD BioGlyco provides high-quality simplexide production services to ensure that products meet the highest standards of purity and activity. Please feel free to
