Results: The isolation of cerebroside G, cerebroside A, and cerebroside B from the whole-body chloroform-methanol extract of the Northern Pacific starfish Asterias amurensis is discussed. The structure of asteriacerebroside G was determined on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic evidence as (2S,3R,4E,13Z)-1-O-(β-glucopyranosyl)-2-[(2R)-2-hydroxytetradecanoylamino]-4,13-docosadiene-1,3-diol. Asteriacerebrosides A, B, and G exhibited growth-promoting activity for the whole body of Brassica campestris.
